Meet our Preschool Educators
Dana Bryan, School Director
Dana joined the Winwood family in February 2005, just 5 months after the doors opened. She began as the Infant I Lead Teacher and quickly proved that she was management material due to her loving ways and organizational skills. Dana was promoted to the Assistant Director in 2006 and to the Director position in 2016. Dana has over 26 years' experience in the child care field, has earned her CDA credential, and is currently pursuing her associates degree in early childhood education. Dana is married with three sons and enjoys cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Erika Foy, Assistant Director
Erika started at Winwood in July of 2010 and has worked in Infants, Toddlers, and Two’s. She joined the management team as the Administrative Assistant in 2016 and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2018. She has earned her CDA credential and is currently pursuing her associate’s degree in early childhood education. Erika just got married, and enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family.
Sylvia Harris, Teacher
Sylvia joined the Winwood team in October of 2004, prior to us opening our doors in November of 2004. Sylvia came to Winwood with over 10 years of experience in child care, mostly preschool age children, and with her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Sylvia has a vast knowledge of Early Childhood Education and is one of the strongest and most requested teachers in the center. She treats every child equally and sets the bar high for them academically, socially and emotionally. She is very good at talking with the children and at allowing them to be heard as well; she encourages conversation with her Pre-kindergarten class to resolve conflicts. Sylvia completed the Leadership Training Program with Winwood and assists the Director and Assistant Director with duties from time to time. Sylvia is married with 3 children, is active in her church and stays fit by exercising every day.
Marlene Orren, Teacher
Marlene joined the Winwood family in November of 2004 as the cook. She loves to cook and hopes to one day open her own bakery; she makes wedding cakes now on the side. Marlene previously drove a school bus and was a care provider for the elderly prior to coming into the child care field. She was used to cooking large meals for her family of 5 sons (and her husband) so she brought some flavor and great food to Winwood. In 2007, Marlene broke her ankle and was bed ridden for about 3 months and upon her return to Winwood she joined the School Age room and drove the bus for us. She has a natural teacher and is very creative, often making her own games for the children. Marlene joined the Infant II room last year; she loves the little ones and brings her kind mannerisms and love of books to the room.
