School-age childcare programs typically stress recreation as the emphasis for their After-school children. Our program offers not only recreation, but also the chance for the children to explore a variety of activities. One week your child may be deeply involved making a Papier-Mâché dinosaur and the next week you might find him or her exploring the heavens and the following week learn to cook. Our program allows for your child to spend time enjoying our wonderful playground. Our spacious play area allows for gross motor development and physical fitness activities including team sports and solitary play. In our school-age classroom, we have different areas where your child can work and play. The program allows for the children to do their homework, enjoy an occasional entertainer, use the computer lab, do quiet reading, play games, and explore arts and crafts. As after-school children at Winwood your childs experience
will include: The Homework Club Realizing the importance of completing homework prior to going
home. Winwood encourages all school-age children to participate
in our Homework Club. A special time is set aside daily
for children to complete their homework. There will always be someone
there to help your child when a homework question has him or her
stumped. The Computer LabIn todays technological society, the use of computers in the classroom is a necessity. The children have access to the computer lab everyday. We have a variety of programs for the different interest of the children. Games and Recreation In addition to the wonderful activities we have planned for your
elementary age child, we provide an exciting classroom environment
where a wide variety of self-directed activities are available.
The activities are offered during a scheduled time when the children
can choose between air hockey, foosball, board games or reading.
During holidays and summer camp, Winwood offers theme related field trips. In our newsletter, you will notice some of the trips include: visiting local attractions, such Dinosaur Park, putt-putt golf, bowling, roller-skating, and visiting local museums.
