 To give you a better idea about all that our school has to offer we are excited to introduce you to Angie Fein, our Preschool Director at Winwood Children’s Center in Lansdowne, Virginia.

I would like to take a few moments to introduce myself. My name is Angie K. Fein and I am the Director ofWinwood Children’s Center here at Lansdowne. I joined the Winwood family in June 2006 and I bring with me 10 years of elementary education, 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education as well as several years in management. I hold a BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Writing.

I am fortunate to work with an outstanding Assistant Director who has been with our Winwood family for over two years. Her name is Alison Mazeika. She came to us from Leesburg Winwood as their Kindergarten Enrichment, and she also has several years experience in Early Childhood education. Alison previously taught elementary education in New York for 7 years and holds a BA in Elementary Education.

Alison and I are very proud of the staff here at Winwood Children’s Center. They are a highly motivated group of professionals that have bonded together to form a family outside oftheir own. They take their profession seriously. This is evident through their interactions with the children and parents, and the program they implement on a daily basis. Their classrooms are bright and cheery and the learning is evident when you walk in. All together we have over 263 years of experience working with young children in our building. Our school opened in June of 2006 and 68% of our teachers have been with us for over three years and 87% for over two years. We are all committed to the education and care of the children in our center.

Many of our families have been with us from the day we opened our doors. We pride ourselves on making connections with our families. Before families enroll, we encourage them to visit us often so the parents and children feel comfortable with the teachers and the environment. We are a very diverse school and we enjoy learning about our families’ cultural backgrounds and try to incorporate what we learn into our program.

Our school is nestled in the beautiful Lansdowne community of Potomac Station. We are close to Tolbert and Selden’s Landing Elementary Schools. We have a modem facility with modem amenities. Our computer lab is used by the children on a daily basis, as well as a SMART board that can be used for lesson plans and theme based games. We have two separate large playgrounds that are age appropriate for the children. It includes a basketball court and a pathway for the children to ride tricycles and scooters. We are also proud to be partnered with MyToddlerlink so that parents and relatives can watch their little ones at any time of the day via their computer.

Alison and I know how important it is to find a safe place to send your children where not only will they be loved and cared for but also have a chance to grow, learn and have a lot of fun. It is our hope that Win wood might just be that place you’re looking for.
